Disaster Recovery

Living in Florida, it's almost impossible to engage in construction and not find yourself involved in disaster relief sooner or later.  With me it began in 1992 following Hurricane Andrew.
Having been raised in Florida  I had experienced a number of storms growing up, but nothing like this.We experienced both the worst and best humanity has to offer.

Most recently, I worked for Bechtel in southern Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina.  F.E.M.A. asked Bechtel to target and attempt to place 800 emergency trailers in 8 weeks.  The southern Mississippi team was able to install 5600 in six weeks and go on to place 30,000 units in time for Christmas. ( 18 weeks )

This is a video that was put together by a group of first responders and locals that I had the great pleasure of working with.  The song is appropriate for both this unique situation and my life in general.
"I will remember you"

My first experience with hurricane relief and recovery came after Hurricane Andrew, it destroyed 25,524 homes and damaged 101,241 others. Killing fifteen people in South Florida.  As a Gereral Contractor we mobilized to Cutler Ridge.  Most of our efforts were initially directed to gutting those homes that could be rebuilt.  We then spent the next 13 months rebuilding the Coral Arms Apartments.
